Troubleshooting Bluetooth Connection: Clearing Pairing Records
If you have factory reset your device, you might encounter issues reconnecting via Bluetooth. This happens because your phone stores an old "Security Key," while the reset device generates a new one, leading to an authentication failure. For your security, the system blocks the connection.
Please follow the steps below to manually clear the old pairing record and reconnect.
iOS Users (iPhone / iPad)
In iOS, security is strict; you must manually "Forget" the old device before re-pairing.
- Open Settings: Go to "Settings" > "Bluetooth".
- Find Device: Locate your device name in the "My Devices" list.
- Forget Device:
- Tap the blue "i" icon next to the device name.
- Tap "Forget This Device".
- Confirm by tapping "Forget Device" again.
- Reconnect: Return to the App, search again, and connect your device.
Android Users
Most Android phones will automatically prompt for re-pairing when a key expires. If no prompt appears, follow these steps:
- Bluetooth Settings: Swipe down for the notification shade and long-press the Bluetooth icon, or go to "Settings" > "Connected devices/Bluetooth".
- Find Paired Device: Find your device under "Paired devices" or "Saved devices".
- Unpair:
- Tap the "Settings/Gear" icon or ">" next to the device name.
- Select "Unpair", "Forget", or "Remove device".
- Toggle Bluetooth (Optional): If the device is still not found, try toggling Bluetooth off and on.
- Reconnect: Return to the App and start the binding process again.
💡 Troubleshooting FAQ
- Q: I "forgot" the device, but the App still can't find it?
- Ensure your device is in Pairing Mode (usually indicated by a flashing light; please refer to your device manual).
- Try restarting your phone's Bluetooth or the phone itself.
- Q: Why must I delete it manually in System Settings?
- For security reasons, mobile operating systems prevent third-party apps from directly deleting system-level Bluetooth pairing records. This action must be performed manually by the user in the system settings.
